The Annals of African Surgery held a workshop at the Kigali Convention Centre during the 2018 COSECSA workshop. The over-subscribed workshop was attended by medical students, residents and surgeons from all over Africa. The faculty of Dr. Kigera the EIC, Dr. Mwenda and Dr Mwachiro, AE and ASE respectively was joined by Prof. Kelly McQueen a professor of anesthesia at Vanderbilt University in the USA.
In addition to equipping participants with the skills on authorship, issues of ethics and promoting one’s work were discussed. The participants were happy to interact with each other and with the facilitators and left the half day event confident they could write quality papers and submit them to the journal.
